Tirtha Patel

Director - Investment & Strategy

Tirtha is the Director of Investments & Strategy at Intentional Asset Management, where she leads investment analysis and diligence, deal structuring and execution, and strategy development — including fund architecture, LP strategy, and sector thesis development — across the firm's private markets platform focused on capital-constrained emerging and frontier markets.

In addition to the firm's flagship growth equity fund, Tirtha leads IAM's direct deal platform, through which the firm originates and structures independent transactions across debt and equity instruments in partnership with strategic investors.

Tirtha brings a cross-disciplinary foundation to investment practice. Prior to IAM, she helped launch India's first official Behavioral Insights Unit in partnership with the Gates Foundation and NITI Aayog, applying experimental research to financial services adoption, energy access, and public health policy. This analytical lens continues to inform her approach to investment design, capital deployment strategy, and how private markets can be structured to better reflect real-world economic behavior in underserved regions.

Previously, she has also worked at the World Bank (in their Finance and Private Sector Development Unit), OECD (in their Results, Evaluation Data and Innovation Unit), and Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), where she contributed to capital markets research, sovereign risk modeling, and ESG data strategy.

Tirtha holds an MPA in International Finance and Economics as well as Quantitative Analysis from Columbia University, and a BS with double majors in Applied Mathematics and Environmental Studies from FLAME University in India.
